Mediation Services?
"The courts of this
country should not be the places where the resolution of disputes
begin. They should be the places where disputes end - after
alternative methods of resolving disputes have been considered and
tried."
- Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor
Turning
Point Mediation Practice (TPMP), contracts with businesses,
county, state, and government agencies, parole boards, judicial
system, educational, housing, health, environmental, and other
institutions to provide cost-effective dispute resolution and
problem solving services. The service is offered to institutions
seeking a third party neutral entity that is not directly
affiliated with the organization in dispute.
TPMP
recruits, trains, and manages a statewide network of credentialed
mediators with unique specialties. TPMP will assign a certified
mediator(s) qualified to resolve conflicts between families,
neighbors
or amongst schoolchildren, between victims of crime and their
offenders, landlord and tenants, workplace disputes, and
grievances against public sector service providers such as the
health, housing or education services. The mediators are able to
respond and resolve issues faster in most cases while maintaining
the working relationships and at a price which is typically lower
than legal fees
TPMP
compliments the mediation process by hiring mediators skilled in
the area of dispute. Skilled mediators can act as a
language translator, advise, and give moral support to the party,
creating a collaborative rather than adversarial dialogue among
parties.
